Are there any bad sides to smoothies?
The main disadvantage of smoothies is the fact that you will feel hungry again fairly quickly. You should therefore add foods other than fruits or vegetables in your smoothies.
So, if you want to drink your smoothie as a meal replacement, you should ensure that it has adequate nutritional level, especially protein and total calories. Considering a normal diet of 3 meals a day, you must obtain at least 12-15 g of protein per meal, and a minimum of 400 calories. A smoothie, containing only fruits and vegetables does not fulfill that condition. To take care of this issue, you can add protein-rich foods such as oats, tofu, hemp seeds, or protein powder.

It all started a little over 3 years ago when we were looking for a better way to eat. I and my husband wanted to eat healthier and more balanced food. That’s when we came across the concept of green smoothies. At the beginning, we were intrigued. “What a weird idea to mix fruits and vegetables! What is this for? Just drinking fruit juice is much better!” We thought at the beginning!
Soon we understood that, the ultimate advantage of green smoothies is the way they allow us to consume a lot of green vegetables without realizing it. Indeed, the sweet taste of the fruits hides the taste of green vegetables, and these also counterbalance the too sweet taste of the fruits: the result is a perfect balance .
In addition, green vegetables are an excellent source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is considered the energy of the sun. The benefits of the sun on our health, our energy level and our mind are undeniable. The same applies to chlorophyll.
So, for the last three years, every morning, every day, we eat a green smoothie at breakfast. This is our little ritual. And they bring us a lot of health benefits!

A green smoothie is very different from a fruit juice. It contains all the nutritional richness of the plants with which it is prepared: vitamins, fibers, proteins, antioxidants, and more.
The addition of green leaves which are rich in chlorophyll changes everything. Chlorophyll has many beneficial properties: it stimulates cell renewal, increases red blood cells, cleanses the digestive tract, eliminates gases, and balances the pH of the body. The green smoothie is ideal for preserving the acid-base balance in your body.
